Mainly an opaque gem, it comes from the gem mineral chrysoberyl having a chemical composition of Beryllium Aluminum Oxide. Found in brown or brownish green color, it has a streak of light running lengthwise through it which gives it a similar look as that of a cat’s eye. Hence, it's popular nomenclature.
How To Wear Cat’s Eye:
It is very important to take care of the gemstone and the rituals when wearing it for the first time. As per the Vedic Astrology, there are certain procedures which need to adhere during this period. Below we enlist the exact guidelines for your benefit.
The Cat’s eye gemstone can be made into a ring or a pendant with silver or in panchdhatu. This ring should be worn on the middle finger of the right hand on a Tuesday Morning during Krishna Paksha (descending moon) before sunrise.
To prepare the ring for wearing, place it at the bottom of a metal bowl and add the following one by one: one:
1. Ganga Jal
2. Tulsi leaves (Indian Basil)
3. Unboiled cow’s milk
4. Honey
5. Ghee (clarified butter)
Recite the following mantra 108 times, to energize the ring
“ Om Pram Preem Proom Sah Ketavay Namah”
The ring can then be immediately taken out of the bowl and cleaned with water and worn on the middle finger of the right hand.
