"Wear Feroza, channel peace, and exude celestial charm daily."
The oldest mines of Firoza Pathhar are located in the Sinai peninsula of Egypt (called मिस्र in Urdu). According to the American Gem Society, Egyptians called Turquoise Stone “mefkat,” meaning “joy” and “delight.”

The geological conditions in which this hussaini firoza (also called Iranian feroza) is mined make it a highly valued gemstone. It contains attractive matrix patterns in contrasting colours, such as golden-brown or black veins, enhancing its visual appeal. Also, its supply is relatively scarce which contributes to its desirability among collectors and connoisseurs.
This feroza Patthar variety is named after the Sleeping Beauty Mine in Arizona, USA. It is known for its pure, robin's egg blue colour and often exhibits little to no matrix (veining).
Perhaps another popular variety that needs no introduction is the Chinese original firoza. Mined in China, it can range in colour palette from pale blue to greenish-blue and may showcase multiple matrix patterns.
Also known as the national gem in the country, this variety of blue feroza stone is valued for its greenish hues often used in decorative arts and Turquoise Jewellery.
Natural feroza stone sourced from mines in Mexico can vary in colour and often showcases matrix patterns.

Who doesn’t remember famous Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s most coveted feroza bracelet? According to the actor himself, his father Mr Salim Khan used to wear a similar bracelet. When the actor debuted in the acting industry, his father gave him the feroza bracelet as a protective charm. It is said to absorb any evil vibrations coming on to the wearer, the gemstone takes it first. It shows up in the form of veins, and then it cracks. The existing bracelet is said to be Salman’s 7th feroza patthar bracelet.
For centuries, firoza gemstone has been prized for its metaphysical and healing properties. It is regarded as a sacred stone worn in jewellery that brings positivity, happiness, luck, wealth, and good health to the wearer’s life. When worn on different fingers, feroza Ratna begets different benefits. For example,
Since feroza is associated with Jupiter (the largest planet in the solar system) and ruled by Lord Brahma, feroza is entrusted with the attributes of guru Brihaspati as well. The wearers benefit from vast knowledge, the ability to see human life as a larger concept, and are invested in accepting the spiritual learning of scholars, researchers, lawyers, teachers, etc.
In Vedic astrology, the feroza stone benefits the wearers in terms of wealth and prosperity. Astrologers place great trust in the ability of feroza to bring financial stability to the native’s life. It is believed that the gem has positive effects on the wearer’s social status and lifestyle.
Unani hakims believe that feroza used as a pishthi (powder) can cure poison and purify the blood. It is said to remove toxins from the body. Tantriks prescribe this gem to those who suffer from regular headaches. The healing properties of feroza have been known to be helpful in curing kidney, liver, or immune-related ailments.

On an average basis, turquoise stone price in India starts from INR 610 and can go as high as INR 3.5 Lakh depending upon the size, origin, and quality. Turquoise stone prices in other countries such as the US, UK, and UAE may vary depending upon the difference in the supply-demand cycle.
>Consider the origin of the stone. Firoza or feroza from certain regions, such as Nishapur or the American Southwest (Sleeping Beauty mines), are highly regarded for their quality and value. For example:
In terms of quality, a low porosity (ability to absorb or retain moisture) feroza with fine texture is considered more valuable than a high porosity firoza with coarse texture. Feel the texture of the stone's surface. If the stone tends to have a smooth and waxy feel, it is of good quality. But a low-quality stone might feel rough. Also, the stone should not have any cracks or pits, as they can diminish the firoza ratan price and durability.
Observe the stone's matrix, which refers to the veining or web-like patterns within the stone. A desirable feroza often has an attractive matrix, which can range from light brown to black and can impact the original feroza price substantially. Always make sure to note the matrix is well-distributed and not overly dominant or blotchy.
Assess the hardness of the stone. Feroza stones typically have around 5 to 6 hardness scores on the Mohs scale, which means they should be relatively resistant to scratches. Gently try scratching the surface of the stone with a metal object or a fingernail. If it scratches easily, it might not be a genuine product and the retailer may be trying to take advantage by making the buyers pay a hefty firoza price for a fake product.
Check the stone's transparency. Authentic feroza is generally opaque or slightly translucent, but it should not be completely transparent. If you can see through the stone clearly, it may not be a genuine feroza or could be a lower-quality stone.

Turquoise is a delicate gemstone that needs gentle handling to maintain its vivid colour and smooth surface. Proper cleaning and care will preserve its beauty for years to come.
Clean turquoise with a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water. Avoid soap, chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners, as they can damage or discolour the stone. Gently pat dry to maintain its natural luster.
Store turquoise jewellery in a soft pouch or fabric-lined box. Keep it separate from harder gemstones to prevent scratches. Turquoise’s softer nature requires careful handling and protection from rough surfaces.
Turquoise is sensitive to heat, perfumes, and oils. Remove your jewellery before swimming, bathing, or applying lotions. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade its vibrant colour, so store it in a cool place.
When buying turquoise, focus on colour, texture, and clarity. The finest turquoise gems display a vibrant sky-blue hue with minimal veining. Avoid overly green or chalky stones, as they may indicate lower quality. Always ask about the stone’s origin, as Persian and Southwestern turquoise are highly valued for their rich colour and durability.
Many turquoise on the market are dyed or stabilized to enhance their appearance. While stabilized turquoise is common, be cautious of imitations made from dyed howlite or plastic. Always request certification or proof of authenticity to ensure you're purchasing a genuine gemstone that retains value over time.
