GemPundit Dominates the 49th India Gems and Jewellery Awards (IGJA) with its Client Magnetism

WHAT A START !!!!!!!!!!

Just about four months into 2023, and we have already witnessed a record-breaking upward trajectory, giving us butterflies with every milestone achieved. The year has started with a fantastic start for our brand, marked by unpredictable but surprising achievements.

From expanding our gemstone catalog by over 40% this year with the addition of 33,700+ SKUs to adopting artificial intelligence (AI) like live chat with experts into our model for a more interactive website, GemPundit has been making waves in the gemstone industry. But the greatest of all news has come at the most anticipated time.

We have been awarded the most prestigious India Gems and Jewellery Award (IGJA) second time in a row. This time our efforts were given special recognition for serving the "Maximum Number of Clients" during the financial year.

2023 was the 49th edition of the IGJA, organized by the most illustrious organization, GJEPC, the apex body of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council supported by the Ministry of Commerce of India and powered by GIA.

GJEPC organizes the award ceremony annually to recognize the top leading exporters of India, spearheading the "Brand India" movement.

OUR JOURNEY TO THE STAR-STUDDED AFFAIR:

This year, the honorable award ceremony was held at the oh-so-glamorous Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, on 23rd April 2023. The event witnessed some of the most ferocious moments as titans of the gemstone industry from all corners of India amalgamated to enjoy and commend the efforts of their fellow rival friends for the night, curiously awaiting their names to be called for the highly reputable winning spots.

As the night progressed, Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon'ble Minister for Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, Government of India, took the command of the event and felicitated the maestros and visionaries of the gemstone industry, congratulating the winners with his motivating words.

Other industry stalwarts and dignitaries present at the event included Mr. Frank Geerkens (Consul General of Belgium in Mumbai), Mr. Vipul Shah (Chairman GJEPC), Shri Nilesh Kothari, Co-Convener, PMBD, GJEPC; Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, and other government officials.

WAY TO OUR ARDOUS VICTORY:

As always, the competition was extremely fierce this year as well. Thousands of flag bearers from the colored gemstone industry, like Kiran Gems, Hasmukh Parekh Jewellers, Modern Impex, Renaissance Global Limited, Dhanera Diamonds, and Kumbh Gems, nominated themselves to win one of a limited of 27 coveted spots.

The selection criteria for these awards are based on parameters such as export performance, value addition, employment generation, and investment in R&D during each financial year.

Being nominated amongst thousands of aspirants in itself is an achievement, but winning the award is simply an overwhelming feeling. We were fortunate enough to experience this feeling yet again as the evening host announced GemPundit’s name amidst the thunderous rounds of applause.

We are delighted to win special recognition in the category of serving the “Maximum Number of Clients” and registering our name in the list of winners once again.

We also won three prestigious titles at the 48th IGJA. Last year, we brought home three unique titles including, "Export to the Highest Number of International Clients and Importing Countries," "Best E-commerce Platform in the Gems and Jewelry Sector," and "Best Innovation in Digital Marketing" under the parent brand Fortuna Retail Private Limited.
