About Golden Pearl
A golden pearl stone is a unique variety of pearls that exhibit an organic golden or yellowish hue which occurs due to the presence of an organic pigment called carotenoids. The refined hues exhibited by this semi-precious gemstone reflect a sense of elegance. It has its origins dating back to history—spanning from ancient civilizations to colonization, the Victorian era, and extending into the experimental landscape of the modern century. The importance of a natural golden pearl crosses centuries and industries. It has been used effectively in jewelry, fashion, interior design, art & luxury goods, decor, advertising & marketing.

Formation of Golden Moti
Typically, golden pearls can be found in two types: Natural and Cultured.
Natural Golden Pearl:
The term “natural”, as self-explanatory as it is, defines the formation of golden pearl when a foreign dust particle penetrates an oyster's mantle, leading to the secretion of layers of nacre around it. Over time, these layers become a hardened lustrous golden-hued pearl.
Cultured Golden Pearl:
This method of producing golden pearls requires human intervention. A minor foreign particle is artificially inserted into an oyster's mantle, triggering nacre deposition. The long duration of nacre accumulation results in the development of a lustrous golden pearl. The top varieties of cultured golden pearls are Akoya, South Sea Pearls, and Tahitian pearls.
The Golden South Sea Pearl
Deep golden South Sea pearl is the most celebrated variety of cultured golden pearls. It is produced within the Pinctada maxima oyster, known for its luxurious golden color and large size. According to studies, “golden South Sea cultured pearls are harvested mainly in Burma, the Philippines, and Indonesia”. They can take up to five years to form, considering the good health of the oyster. The Jewelmer pearl farm is recognized as one of the oldest companies in the Philippines observing different techniques of harvesting high-end golden South Sea cultured pearls.
Natural Basra Pearl
Similar to their white to creamy counterparts, Basra pearls can also be found in lavish golden hues. This distinctive hue in Basra pearl comes from the presence of trace elements of copper or manganese. These elements influence the pearl’s nacre. As the layers of nacre get deposited around the irritant, the trace elements mix with the aragonite crystals, resulting in the pearl's golden color.

Importance of Golden Pearl in Astrology
The most prominent use of golden pearl gemstone can be found in astrology. The connoisseurs of astronomy across Indian and Western philosophy associate golden moti with the planet Jupiter and the Moon.
The Moon, which is a natural satellite, represents mother nature & mind, and Jupiter aka Devaguru ( who is the symbol of righteousness) represents fortune & intellect. The savants of the astrology world believe that an original golden pearl is blessed with the cosmic energies of both these celestial bodies.
A pure golden pearl is believed to bring fortune in life, open new horizons of income generation, resolve issues in relationships with fathers and make life enjoyable.
While in the Tantric belief system, golden pearls are believed to have formed when the rain fell on earth under Swati Nakshatra which blesses the natives with sharpness of mind and the unbeatable talent of communicative skills.
