Onyx Pendants
Related to the family of the mineral Silica, Onyx is a variety of Chalcedony with bands on it. With a rating of 6 to 7 out of 10 on the Moh’s Scale of Hardness, this entrancing gemstone is found in a plethora of colours, ranging from white to almost every colour except for blue and purple. Mined in a number of areas across the globe like Uruguay, Brazil, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Hawaii; this magnificent gemstone derives its beautiful name from the Greek word “ὄνυξ” which stands for “Claw” as the flesh coloured Onyx looks exactly like a fingernail.
